Easy Riders out to Charlton – Sun 1st Sept @ 10am

After the wind a couple of weeks ago forced a route change, we’ll have another attempt – fingers crossed for better weather than last time! Starting from the Crown Meadow car park, we will head out past the football club and take the cycle path adjacent to the A46 before turning off towards Hinton. We’ll head down Haeslor Lane before heading into Charlton, we’ll head back via a different route using the bridleway that joins onto Red Lane and returning to Evesham via Hampton.

Mainly quiet local roads, cycle path adjacent to the A46 and some bridleways.

We will stop at Hampton Farm shop for coffee (and cake!) – please note this is quite late in the ride.

It is advisable to wear a helmet at all times when riding a bike. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear sunscreen and bring a drink/snacks.

Evesham Cyclefest preparation – Bicycle check and film about ultracycling!

Inspired to Ride

Less than 2 weeks to go for Evesham Cyclefest!

Make sure your bike is in great working order ahead the Evesham Cyclefest by coming along to our bike check evening at Evesham Adventure Playground this Saturday 31st August 2019 and then enjoy a screening of the film “Inspired to Ride” about the first Transamerica Race.

Bicycle checks are happening between 5pm and 7.30pm.
Film showing is between 7.30pm and 9pm.

“INSPIRED TO RIDE” follows a handful of cyclists as they race unsupported in the inaugural year of The Trans Am Bike Race. It’s the antithesis to events like Tour de France and Race Across America. There are no teams, no support vehicles, no special jerseys and not a dime in prize money. 4233 Miles. 10 States. Coast To Coast. Self-Supported.
As they battle lack of sleep, injuries and spirited competition, “INSPIRED TO RIDE” takes you on an invigorating road trip — amidst the jaw-dropping beauty of the TransAmerica Trail with its varied landscapes, intriguing locals and found stories which dot this path of discovery.
Featuring Mike Hall and Juliana Buhring plus many more “crazies”.

There is a suggested donation of £5 to Evesham Adventure Playground, our chosen charity for Evesham Cyclefest, for the bike check and/or film.
The address of Evesham Adventure Playground is:
Woodlands
Evesham
WR11 1XH

You can sign up to the Facebook event here.

We would love to see you there!

August Social Ride – 18th @ 2pm

Starting from the Market Square, this 23 mile ride takes us out of Evesham and over to the Lenches – so its a little ‘lumpy’.

Whilst the majority of the ride uses quiet local roads, there is a very small stretch on the A44 therefore this ride is not suitable for children or first timers.

There will be a coffee stop at Ellenden Farm shop so don’t forget money for a drink/snack.

You can check out the route and also book on to the ride via Let’s Ride  or sign up via Facebook.

News

Here come the boys!

Keep your diary clear for Thursday 12th September – the OVO Energy Tour of Britain is coming to Pershore!

In what is being billed as “a potentially race-deciding stage” the individual time trial stage will take in a 14.km (9 mile) loop starting and finishing in the centre of Pershore.

Its not the first time that the Tour has visited the area with the last year’s  women’s Tour starting stage four from Evesham.  Whilst the men’s tour featured Ilmington hill on stage four.

There’s no doubt that this will be a great day out and an opportunity to see some of the worlds top cyclists up close.

Evesham Carnival

In keeping with the theme of this year’s Evesham carnival a group of 14 of our members dressed up as chimney sweeps and even two Mary Poppins!

It was great to be able to show off our “More bums on bikes” banners to the packed streets.

We are delighted to have been awarded 3rd place in the Non-Motorised Float category.
